Excellent picture throughout the film. Few scratches and
anomalies to be found. It looks like a thorough restoration
has been done. Nice color saturation and no fading. Possibly
one of the best Indian DVDs of an older film.
Sound
The sound quality is equal to that of the picture. The songs
are much better than my CD. (As a side note, I compare the sound
of the DVD to the CD, if I have it.) Just a little bit of
hiss and a few pops in the background of the dialogue, but that
is normal noise and is not at all distracting. Anyways, the
noise is so low that you have to conciously listen for it to
notice.
Menu/Extras
The menu is nice and has the jacket cover (I think) as the
background picture. Like "Abhimaan" and possibly other EVP
DVDs, the option to play "Songs Audio" is also present. There
is also a "Coming Attractions" feature, which I assume to mean
titles soon to come to DVD. This feature consists of two
theatrical trailers, one for "Amar Prem" and one for "Mera Gaon Mera
Desh."
Overall
A great disc all around. This one does not disappoint.
