Dil Se- Eros/DEI

Picture

Absolutely superb picture quality. The scenery (Himalayas are filmed beautifully), locales, and cinematography of this movie is absolutely stunning, and the DVD transfer really does justice to these aspects of the film. The picture is clear, sharp, there is no grain, and color and contrast levels are just about perfect.

The picture is framed at ~1.85:1. The picture looks beautiful both on a TV screen and a high resolution monitor, which really speaks to the excellent quality of this transfer.(Editor's note: The original aspect ratio is 2.35:1.)

Sound

Sound: Superb Dolby Digital 5.1 mix. The music in this movie is great; besides the songs, the atmospheric music is also superb. The 5.1 mix does a wonderful job of creating creating an expansive sound-stage for the music.

Menu/Extras

Pretty standard menu. Not many extras - just a few previews & attractions. As I've said in a previous review, having no extras seems like a great idea, since the length of Hindi movies require them to take up the full 8 gigabytes available on a DVD in order to maintain great picture & sound quality. This DVD is dual-layered.

Overall

I can't complain about any aspect of this DVD. If you like the movie, you'll love the DVD. It shines in all aspects.
