Reference quality. One of the best discs in my collection. Colors are accurate and details are clear. There are a few instances of picture disturbance, such as when one of the characters has a striped shirt on. That could have been fixed by 16:9 enhancement. The opening credits and the end credits are at the original 2.35:1, but the feature, with the exception of the Intermission, is 1.85:1. There is panning when needed, but there are times when two characters are talking and they are both just outside the center and we can't see either of them.
Sound
Very clear Dolby Digital 5.1, from the original DTS 6 track. The dubbing makes some of the soundtrack sound artifical and recorded, but it is not a major problem. The score and songs come across nicely as does the dialogue. I wish they had put the original Tamil track in at least Dolby Surround for us Tamilians. They probably could have fit even Tamil 5.1. Oh well...
Menu/Extras
The menu is static, with the head shot of Aishwarya Rai that is on the cover and the picture of Aish and Prasanth on the other side of the screen. There are the usual chapter stops, play movie, and song selections, as well as a "now available" and "coming soon" section, which has "Ziddi" and "Ghulam-e-Mustafa." The Eros featurette is at the beginning. English subtitles are included, but you must turn them on at the menu. The subtitle button is disabled on the remote.
Overall
A very good disc overall. I'd recommend it. The movie is good and so is the presentation
